Who are you?
I'm Amélie Bourgeois, Anne-Sophie Behaghel's partner at Flair, which I co-founded. Flair is a perfume studio that combines creativity, quality and accessibility to offer its clients a unique experience. We work closely with labs like IFF and Firmenich, which lets us select beautiful natural and synthetic raw materials, as well as more unusual ones.
Perfumer, a vocation?
An encounter, rather. A chance meeting with my master perfumer, who trained me and sparked my passion for perfume. I found an introspective journey in it. I've been immersed in smells since childhood; it's one of my refuges. A little anecdote: as a child, I loved letting my nose wander through the wheat fields.
Your favorite color?
Orange or red.
A comforting smell?
I'd say Féminité du Bois by Shiseido.
Let's talk perfume
Your signature accord?
Immortelle and ambroxan.
Immortelle is a flower used in perfumery for its warm, soft and woody notes. It has long been my favorite material. Grown in Mediterranean regions, it has a distinctive smell reminiscent of honey and dry herbs.
Ambroxan is a molecule with a woody, musky, ambery smell reminiscent of natural ambergris.
The perfect pairing?
Cypriol (a plant native to India whose roots are used in perfumery) and cashmeran (a synthetic note that evokes a soft, musky, slightly powdery wood).
Your inspirations?
I'm a dreamer by nature. My inspirations come from travel, nature and, above all, life's moments. When I'm inspired, I have just one goal: to create without limits.
Your ideal perfume?
One that tells a story, but above all one that moves us.

Your food guilty pleasure?
I often get cravings for savory cocktail crackers…
Your favorite drink?
The famous Bloody Mary cocktail!

Are Versatile briefs easy?
They're really interesting but very exacting. Coralie knows what she wants, and her standards are very high.
Gueule de Bois: iconic, original, but above all intoxicating.
Accrodisiaque: addictive, genderless and bestial…
Rital Date: seductive, neo-lemon and surprising.
What do you think of your Versatile creation?
In my opinion, Rital Date was a lovely development. Coralie and Pierre's love story is a positive one, so this perfume could only be positive too. And the brief was hilarious: limoncello, tomato leaf, pesto… it was brilliant!

I'd say: naturalness in fruit notes.
