What do we mean by making the institutional bold?
Institutional: something coded, standardized, established
For years, we've been witnessing a boom in new perfumes (+1,500/year).
The result? Ever-higher prices, ads lacking diversity and standardized scents.
A few codes of perfumery and luxury:
"If it's expensive, it must be high quality"
"Flowers are for women"
"The heavier the cap, the more luxurious it is"
"100% natural = 100% eco-friendly"
"Transparency doesn't look luxurious. Luxury is the dream"
In short, we were fed up with these clichés and with smelling like everyone else.
From this realization, VERSATILE was born.
Because deciphering a cosmetic label has never been fun, our compositions are simple:
- Short formulas (max. 47 ingredients)
- Full transparency about our ingredients
- Alcohol-free, only a 100% natural and plant-based oil base: Almond + Wheat
- Vegan, cruelty-free
* Free from BHT/BHA, colorants, UV filters, additives, CMR (Carcinogenic, Mutagenic, Reprotoxic) *
No top models, no showbiz stars.
Advertising campaigns have long favored a standardized look: fair skin, slender figure and for men, add a square jaw and V-shaped torso.
Nowadays, this one-way beauty is out.
Our versatile muses.
We are AGAINST 100% natural!
It's an opportunistic concept that plays on consumers' fears and lack of information.
Synthetic cliché: too chemical, harmful, polluting, cheap
Natural cliché: super eco-friendly, good for the body and the planet, very high quality
Spoiler alert: natural isn't necessarily eco-friendly, nor better for you
The truth? It's here
We make the conscious and sensible choice not to choose exclusively between natural and synthetic.
By combining the two, our perfumes last a long time on the skin and spare our ecosystems from excess.
A little bonus: we reveal all our formulas, along with the information you need to decipher and understand your product.
Perfumes that smell good, makes sense, right?
We're not perfect, but our product is optimized to minimize our environmental impact.
No production on the other side of the world!
Our partners are French and European (except for our samples).
Minimalist and optimized packaging: content > container
- Materials: recycled (labels, shipping packaging), upcycled (boxes, perfume cards) and recyclable (bottle, shipping packaging)
- We've avoided plastic as much as possible: 100% recycled and recyclable protective paper (no bubble wrap), no cellophane. The only plastic is our cap + the roll-on ball holder (less than 3g).
- Made in France: perfumes imagined in Paris, made in Grasse
- Small batches: we (re)produce on demand
We commit to donating 3% of our profits to the RUBAN ROSE association, in support of research.
Why this association? We all have a woman in our life. Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers in women.
On a personal note, it is in the name and memory of the founder's father, Professor Thierry Frébourg, who passed away prematurely in March 2021, who dedicated his life to Genetics, rare diseases, cancer research, and who was committed to breast cancer research for over 15 years.
Thierry Frébourg believed in prevention rather than cure.
His cause has become ours.
In 4 years, we are proud to have donated approximately €40,000 to the association.
