"MADE IN FRANCE": a label that smells like a warm baguette!
Let's face it, French know-how is the stuff of dreams all over the world and inspires a lot of fascination.
For years now, the "Made in France" label has been used left, right and center: the French flag can justify a very high price, but it also wins consumers' trust.
What does "Made in France" really mean?
We're sorry to break it to you: "The 'Made in France' label does not mean that 100% of a product's manufacturing stages were carried out in France, but that at least a significant part of the manufacturing was carried out in France. The product takes the origin of the country where it underwent its last substantial transformation."
So to date, there's no real standardized, regulated Made in France label. Even if all the parts come from China but are assembled in France, a brand can claim Made in France.
Our choice: made in France, with European partners
Our perfumes are imagined in Paris, composed in Grasse and assembled in the Paris region. A few of our suppliers are European (Italy and Spain), and we'll explain why.
Why a bottle made in Italy?

No, you weren't dreaming: you've probably already seen identical bottles at different brands. They're "stock" bottles, catalog products that any company can buy in small quantities.
The real know-how of French glassmakers is rare and very expensive. A mold exclusive to one brand costs between €30k and €50k, with a minimum order of 15,000 to 25,000 units.
We had a very specific packaging in mind, for a very specific use: a pocket roll-on that doesn't spill.
Why oils from Italy and Spain?
Stability > smell.
In all transparency, at the start of the creation process, we wanted oils produced and grown in France. The choice was limited: camelina, hemp, cherry kernel and sunflower.
- Hemp and camelina oils were far too fragrant: despite our high perfume concentrations, their smell took over and completely unbalanced the perfumes.
- Sunflower oil smelled way too much like food, and the cherry kernel oil we had selected ran out of stock before our regulatory tests.
So we had to quickly find quality oils with proven benefits, grown close to home: sweet almond (Spain) and wheat germ (Italy).
So our partners come from Europe at the very furthest, but production and assembly are truly made in France! Find the details of each ingredient and its origin on the pages of our Extraits de parfum, for example Croissant Café.
