Hesperides are one of the 6 original families (Floral, Hesperide, Woody, Oriental, Fern, Chypre) according to the SFP (Société Française des Parfumeurs).
Are you familiar with the name "Cologne"? That's normal, as it's one of the oldest types of perfume. Its concentration is very low (between 3-6%) and it doesn't last long on the skin. On the other hand, its scent is much appreciated during the summer months, as Colognes give a feeling of cleanliness, freshness and summer! Napoleon was a fan.
Citrus fruits are the only fruits (with the exception of blackcurrant buds) that can be extracted naturally by cold expression of the zest.
The scent is fresh, invigorating, sparkling and full of vitamins. They combine perfectly with almost all the other olfactory families (woods, flowers, aromatics, etc.).
Most of the citrus notes are top notes, the ones that give you pep at first smell. Here are some raw materials, the natural notes are followed by a *:
